The Big Fake Wedding
Last month I took part in a one-of-a-kind experience at a new wedding venue in Asheville. The Big Fake Wedding came to town to put on its alternative to the standard wedding show by giving brides-and-grooms-to-be a front row seat to an actual wedding where they could see various wedding vendors in action. The bride and groom in these photos are an actual married couple who renewed their vows during the ceremony.
First off, The Masonic Temple was an amazing venue to be at. Its rich history was on display everywhere you looked and the fun and quirkiness of downtown Asheville surrounded it in all directions.
The day went just as any other wedding day would go with the bride and groom getting ready, time for some fun portraits around the venue, and a ceremony in a really cool old theatre. The forest backdrops in the theatre were handprinted over 100 years ago according to one of the Masons at the lodge.
Shay Brown from Shay Brown Events was an absolute blast to work with. She was one of the most organized event planners I've had the pleasure to work with.
My work, along with photos of all the other vendor's work, was recently featured on Ruffled. Be sure to check it out. Great work by everyone!
