I have a Question

What is a wedding photojournalist?

Photojournalism is a way of telling truthful, honest stories with photos. Weddings are full of spontaneous joy and emotion and I’ve spent over 15 years learning to anticipate and capture that emotion. I absolutely love to tell these once-in-a-lifetime stories and document real, one-of-a-kind moments.

What about portraits?

Absolutely! Along with the fabulous candids, I love finding creative ways to photograph you and your new spouse together. We generally spend time before or after the ceremony on this.

Do you take posed family photos?

Of course! Everyone didn’t get all dressed up for nothing. This is generally done following the ceremony, and we move quick ... everyone wants to get to the party on time and I don’t like be the one standing between your guests and cocktail hour.

How long will you be at the wedding?

My goal is to tell the full story of your day, so I begin while everyone is getting ready and finish up after the grand exit.

Can you hold my date for me?

I am a full-time professional so I can only guarantee your date once you book and pay the retainer fee. That said, once you schedule a consultation, I'll be happy to place a hold on your date until we meet up.

Do you work with a second shooter?

This is an optional add-on that many of my couples choose. I work with a network of skilled and trusted photographers who can step in for your wedding day. Having a second shooter helps us better tell the story of your day and you'll ultimately get more photos.

What if you get sick or some emergency comes up?

This is one of the best questions you should ask. Simply put, life happens when we least expect it. In the event of an emergency, I will make every effort possible to be at your wedding, but in the unlikely scenario that I cannot, I have a network of highly skilled and trusted photographers I can ask to step in for me. Ask me about the day my son was born!

We want to do something really cool we saw on Pinterest, can you shoot that?

My goal is to tell your unique story, not someone else’s. That being said, I do find inspiration from many forms of media, and I’m up for trying most ideas you have, so please share.

Do you edit the images or do I get everything you shot on my wedding day?

I edit everything after the wedding using the most up-to-date photo software out there. You will get the digital files within 2-3 weeks of your wedding date through a password protected gallery right on this site. The files are yours to share, print and love.

I see a lot of black and white images along with color images?

All of the images are edited to my own aesthetics. While all images are initially shot in color, converting it to black and white brings out certain elements of a photo. The majority of photos will be delivered in color, but I do like to mix in black and white images. Often times you have one of each.

What’s a “Storybook” wedding album?

The Storybook Albums are hand-crafted to tell the story of your day. They feature multiple images per spread (two pages) and are printed on archival papers. They are amazing; you really have to hold one in your hands to understand. Contact me and I’ll be happy to show you.
